Primula vulgaris, our native wildflower primrose, is a much loved and popular variety of primula. The lightly scented flowers are a herald of spring, second only to snowdrops, and are instantly recognisable as they emerge above a rosette of zesty green, ruffled leaves.
An exquisite plant, they'll delight you with their gorgeous pale-lemon flowers, each with a darker central eye. Really something special, primroses produce masses of blooms which are carried on short, delicate stems. Plants are best appreciated in small groups at the edge of flowerbeds or in pots - even better in a woodland setting among ferns and other woodland plants where you can allow them to naturalise as they would in the wild.
A spring-flowering, fully winter-hardy perennial, primroses make a great addition to autumn and winter containers where the luxurious, textured foliage will add interest before bursting into flower in the spring. They’re one of the easiest garden plants to grow too, needing an absolute minimum of care and will self-seed freely.
Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be assured that this plant will perform perfectly in your garden.
Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, ready for planting out.
