Nursery Manager
Long Lane Nursery, Gedney Hill
The Role
We're seeking an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to lead our nursery operations and continue delivering outstanding plant quality to our customers nationwide.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee all horticultural operations at our Gedney Hill nursery site
- Manage stock movement, plant husbandry, pest and disease control
- Set and enforce quality and technical specifications with suppliers
- Lead a team responsible for growing, production, and stock control
- Ensure DEFRA and phytosanitary compliance in all import/export activity
- Drive efficiency, quality, and innovation across the nursery operation
What we'd like from you
- Proven leadership experience in a horticultural or plant nursery setting
- In-depth technical plant knowledge and practical nursery operations expertise
- Familiarity with import/export procedures and plant health legislation
- Strategic thinker with excellent planning and people management skills
- A hands-on, solutions-focused mindset
Salary
40K - 50K

Horticultural Grower
Long Lane Nursery, Gedney Hill
The Role
- Maintaining correct moisture levels of the crops.
- Crop trimming and spacing as required.
- Mixing / applying feeds and checking nutrient levels
- Maintaining Glasshouse environments, including daily maintaining checks on all relevant machinery and systems.
- Monitoring of P&D in your area.
- Maintaining chemical and fertiliser inventories.
- Applying Biological controls.
- Irrigation system maintenance.
- All other plant husbandry work.

Must haves:
- Full driving Licence
- Commercial horticultural experience.
- Technical knowledge of growing principles
- Experience of leading a team.
- Be familiar with Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Chemical application, PA1 and PA6 certificates would be an advantage, however training may be available.
Salary
- Full Time: 40 hrs per week / Salary £25k+ - based on experience.
