Description

There’s something iconic about big, bold yellow daffodils, and for us, Narcissus ‘Dutch Master’ is the one that sets the standard. It’s tall, it’s proud, and it absolutely sings with spring energy. If you're looking to create instant impact with a classic, this is the one to go for.

'Dutch Master' is an RHS Award of Garden Merit winner for good reason. It produces large, rich golden-yellow trumpets on tall, sturdy stems that hold their heads high above the foliage. They flower in mid-spring, just when the garden is waking up, and they do it with style.

And the beauty of it is, once they're in the ground, they'll return year after year.

Grow these in borders, naturalise them in grass, and even plant them up in big pots by the door. They never fail to deliver. They pair brilliantly with Muscari, Anemone blanda or early Tulips, and they’re also a fantastic cut flower.

Pollinators are drawn to the early colour, and the tall stems help them stand out, even from a distance. They're fully hardy, easy to grow, and great for beginners or anyone who just wants a reliable blast of spring cheer without too much effort.

Supplied as a set of 15 bulbs, size 12/14.

Top Tips
  • Which way up? Usually pointy end upwards, but if you are not sure, plant the bulb on its side and it will eventually right itself.
  • Add mycorrhizal fungi to the roots before planting to encourage faster and more reliable establishment.
  • For long-lasting cut flowers, soak stems in warm water before placing in your vase.
Care Information

Planting Advice for your bulbs:

  • It is best to get your bulbs in the ground as soon as you can so that they can establish a good root system before the weather becomes too cold.
  • Please check the bag for any additional planting instructions.
  • Plant bulbs 10-15cm deep and 10cm apart.
  • They are fine to plant even if a little green growth is showing; they will just need a good watering when you plant them, and thereafter only when the soil is dry.
  • Leave them in the ground once they die back, they will come back bigger and better each year.
  • While all the energy that a bulb needs in order to grow is stored in the bulb itself, they will do better if you feed them when in active green growth.
  • Plant in herbaceous borders, in pots, or leave in the ground to naturalise.

Aftercare Advice for your bulbs:

  • Water frequently and if in pots, ensure that the compost doesn't dry out.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
