Description

The classic pizza topping taste straight from your own garden! 'Jalapeno' peppers boast a medium heat - they are full of flavour and a proper kitchen essential!

The peppers begin glossy green, then turn rich red as they mature. Each stage brings a slightly different kick. Mild green warmth early on. A deeper, sweeter heat when fully ripe. You choose how bold you want to go with your grow!

The plants stay manageable and tidy, up to around 60cm. Perfect for patio containers, balconies, courtyards and sunny corners, they crop steadily through the summer, producing generous clusters of peppers up to 10cm long.

They look fantastic too. Bright, glossy and full of colour. A real splash of life on the patio.

And they are incredibly useful in the kitchen. Slice them on pizza, add to salads, stir through pasta, or grill them for a smoky twist. They are so easy to use that you'll start picking them almost daily - and want to grow them again next year too!

The plants grow with confidence and may want a cane for support once they fill out. Give them warmth, feed them well and enjoy a steady harvest from mid-summer onwards. For anyone wanting homegrown flavour with a bit of personality, this variety is a winner.

Top Tips
  • Provide support with a small cane or stake if plants grow tall or become top-heavy with peppers.
    Care Information
    • Plant plug plants indoors or in a greenhouse from late winter to early spring.
    • Move outdoors after the last frost, typically in late spring or early summer.
    • Peppers thrive in a warm, sunny location with 6 - 8 hours of direct sunlight daily.
    • A sheltered spot protected from strong winds is ideal.
    • Use a light, well-draining soil enriched with organic compost or a multi-purpose potting mix.
    • Plant each plug 30 - 40cm apart in rows or containers.
    • Plant so the root ball is just below the soil surface. Avoid burying the stem. Firm the soil gently around the plant and water well after planting.
    • For containers, choose pots at least 30cm in diameter with good drainage.
    • Fill with high-quality compost and follow the same planting instructions.

    Ongoing Care:

    • Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water deeply 1 - 2 times a week, increasing during hot, dry spells.
    • Use a high-potash fertiliser, like tomato feed, every two weeks once flowers start to form. This encourages healthy development.
    • Pinch out the growing tips when the plant is about 30cm tall to encourage bushier growth.
    • Remove any side shoots if the plant becomes overcrowded.
    Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
