Description

Breathtaking! A lavender like you have never seen before - glorious rose-pink flowers, heavenly scent, and bees absolutely love it!

Lavandula angustifolia 'Rosea' produces the most gorgeous, soft rose-pink flower spikes, which is a surprisingly rare and wonderful twist on the much-loved garden classic. And the fragrance is simply divine.

The pink spikes hover magically above a mound of silvery grey-green foliage from June through to September, for four months of effortless colour and scent. It is compact, tidy and completely at home in a sunny border, a rockery, or a pot on your patio.

Despite its exotic Mediterranean origins, this is fully hardy English lavender. It will sail through a British winter without worry. Plus, it is also remarkably drought-tolerant once established, so it practically looks after itself.

The RHS has recommended it as an outstanding ‘Plant for Pollinators’, as bees and butterflies simply cannot resist it.

Top Tips
Enjoy a second flush of flowers if cut back after the first wave of blooms has faded.
Care Information
  • Drought-tolerant, lavender thrives in a sunny border, container, herb or gravel gardens.
  • Best planted between April and when the soil is warming up, ensure the plants gets really good drainage.
  • There's no need to improve the soil as lavender thrives in any poor or moderately fertile conditions.
  • Lavenders should be pruned every year to keep them compact.
  • For established plants, use secateurs to remove flower stalks and about 2.5cm of the current year’s growth - usually in late summer, after flowering -  making sure that some green growth remains.
  • You can prune lighty in April if required.
