Description

An award-winning spring flowering climber. Clematis 'Grandiflora' produces breathtaking spring floral displays with masses of pure white flowers. This vigorous, fast-growing variety is ideal for bringing early-season beauty and softening any structure it can cling to.

The sheer volume of flowers is extraordinary. Crisp white blooms smother the plant in spring, just like a dusting of snow. These simple, elegant flowers contrast beautifully against the fresh green foliage, creating a clean and uplifting display. If you've got a tired fence, a bare wall, or an old shed in need of a makeover, this is your solution.

'Grandiflora' is hardy, easy to manage, and highly adaptable. It thrives in a range of conditions, from full sun to partial shade, and needs little more than a yearly tidy-up after flowering to keep it in top shape. Once established, it reliably returns year after year, gaining strength and stature with each season.

Thanks to its vigorous nature, 'Grandiflora' climbs to 6m or more, weaving its way through trellis, over pergolas, or even up into large shrubs or trees. It creates a soft, romantic effect that transforms the garden into a floral paradise right at the start of the season.

Fully deserving its coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure that this is a proven garden performer, guaranteed to be suitable for UK gardeners at every level of experience. You can therefore plant this in the garden with confidence, for stunning displays for many years to come.

Top Tips
  • Plant with the crown of the plant 5-8cm deep to encourage new shoots to grow from below ground level.
  • Clematis like a cool ‘root run’ so try and plant so that the roots are shaded. If you are planting in a sunny position, place some pieces of slate or flat stones on the soil after planting or use groundcover plants to keep the roots cool.
Care Information
  • Feed in spring with a general-purpose feed, avoiding the stems. Mulch immediately afterwards with organic matter such as well-rotted manure, leafmould or garden compost.
  • Water regularly during periods of dry weather in the first few seasons after planting, especially for container plants.
  • Clematis in pots should be given a liquid feed through the summer and early autumn.
  • Montana Clematis should be pruned when necessary soon after blooming, removing only wood from previous years - basically a tidy up when it has finished flowering. New summer growth will bear next year’s flowers and should be trained and tied in accordingly.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
