Description

The best, most vibrant kiss of colour you'll see on a houseplant! Bold, bright pink bracts, with violet blue flowers, erupt in spring or autumn for true tropical style.

Also known as a Pink Quill Plant, with no prizes for guessing why, Tillandsia 'Vincent' brings instant tropical drama to your home. This bromeliad stays compact, reaching around 20cm tall and wide, but it delivers colour that rivals larger houseplants.

Narrow evergreen leaves form neat rosettes, flushed red at the base, setting the perfect stage for the flamboyant display.

This plant comes from rainforest conditions - it loves humidity and rewards it with strong growth and long-lasting colour. A bright bathroom or steamy kitchen is ideal, turning everyday spaces into something special. Mist it regularly and it responds quickly.

Supplied as an established houseplant in a 9cm pot, ready to display.

Top Tips

A tip to get shy plants to flower is to let the water dry in the centre of the plant then place a plastic bag over the plant with a ripe banana inside for a week or so - the banana gives off ethylene gas which stimulates blooming.

When you have baby plants (pups) appearing at the side and the parent looks like it is starting to rot, leave the original in place, don't remove it as this will feed the growing plantlets.

Care Information

Aftercare of your Tillandsia Bromeliad:

  • Place your plant in bright indirect light in a warm, preferably humid room.
  • Mist the plant occasionally and stand in a tray of pebbles to increase humidity.
  • Keep the central well of the plant filled with rainwater from March to October. Over winter, keep it on the dry side, filling just occasionally and not fully.
  • Remember to also water the plant compost as well as the central well, leaving it just damp.
  • A very weak (quarter mix) of liquid houseplant feed once a month while in full growth can be poured into the rosette cup.

Pruning your Bromeliad:

  • No pruning is necessary, although any brown leaves can be trimmed.
  • Once flowering is over, leave the main rosette in place as it dies back.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
