Description

Enjoy flowering houseplant displays across the Christmas period with a bounty of four colours from just one plant. A perfect gift or treat for your indoor gardening collection!

Also known as a Schlumbergera, this variety produces dainty flowers in four different colours, each erupting from pinkish buds across the festive period, stretching from November to January. Thankfully easy to grow and long-lasting, this brings natural beauty to the home for the winter period, year after year.

Cerise pink buds sit at the tips of the rich green succulent stems, opening to reveal white, red, orange and pink blooms. In time, the foliage stretches outwards and arches gracefully, living for decades.

This is a forgiving Christmas Cactus, soon returning to health even after several weeks of neglect, with just a simple water needed to get the succulent leaves back to their best. The ideal plant for those short on time or who regularly forget to water their houseplants.

See the very best displays by housing this Christmas Cactus in a decorative pot cover in a bright room away from direct sunlight. A gentle misting now and then will also be appreciated!

Supplied as an established plant in a 13cm pot, ready to plant. Please note, the pictured ornamental pot is not supplied, for illustration purposes only.

Top Tips
Aim for a consistent temperature of 18C – 20C in spring, summer, and while in flower in winter. In autumn and after flowering, move to an indoor spot with a slightly cooler temperature of 12-15C.
Care Information
  • Keep this Christmas Cactus in its nursery pot for the first few years. Repotting will be needed every other year and is best towards the end of March.
  • When repotting, avoid moving to a pot that is more than 5cm in diameter larger than the existing pot. Repot using a peat-free, loam-based compost and add extra leaf mould and grit to help drainage.

Caring for Christmas Cactus

  • This houseplant will grow best in a warm and partially shaded spot with indirect sunlight. A windowsill is ideal, eastern facing where possible.
  • For summer, you can move this houseplant into the garden, into a warm and sheltered spot with shade. Doing this will encourage flowering and fresh growth. Be sure to keep the plant away from direct sunlight and bring back inside once summer ends and temperatures are forecast to start dropping.
  • Water often from April to September to keep compost moist. Avoid the plant from becoming waterlogged by allowing excess water to drain away.
  • Due to the tropical origins of this variety, a humid atmosphere is preferred. Mist the leaves regularly and stand the pot in a tray of damp gravel.
  • Although not overly necessary, liquid houseplant-specific feed can be applied from April to September, which can boost growth.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
