A great way to bring a modern feel to your home, these bold houseplants make a striking feature with their swordlike, long green leaves sprouting from a sturdy trunk.
Yucca elephantipes is native to South Africa and will thrive in a bright spot in the home (although preferably not in direct sunlight) at temperatures of about 18-24°C. Grown for their foliage and shape, they really do resemble small trees and make an instant and dramatic impact when given pride of place ideal for a bright room or conservatory. For a touch of variety, they are a great plant to move outdoors to bring a Mediterranean feel to your patio during the summer.
One of the easiest houseplants to grow and care for, the yucca is exceptionally robust, requiring very little water perfect if you dont have much time or sometimes forget about them! As Yucca elephantipes holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure that these plants will perform superbly for many years to come. Just water moderately from spring to autumn, and less frequently in winter; and they will appreciate a balanced liquid feed every three months.
