Description

Possibly the brightest and most dazzling Cordyline you'll ever see! 'Pink Passion' is a new and exciting colour variation, bringing exotic style to borders and pots, while being just as hardy and low-maintenance as others.

Perfect for adding a modern twist to any patio, terrace or balcony display, this stunning plant will provide instant impact in even the most compact of spaces with its arching, red and purple leaves edged with shocking pink.

A breeding breakthrough not only in colour but also habit, Cordyline 'Pink Passion' reaches just 1m before it sends up new leaves from its base, and because it's compact, it is great for a pot in the smallest of spaces!

Evergreen and hardy to -6C, the pink looks fantastic all year round, adding colour to your garden when all else begins to fade. To be absolutely sure of surviving the harshest of winter weathers, we do suggest using frost protection fleeces or wrapping, or moving container-grown plants into a garage or porch during extreme cold conditions.

Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot. Repot right away into a larger, decorative planter and place by a doorway or gateway, or on the patio or decking for an instant show-stopping display.

Top Tips
Best displayed as a pair and placed either side of your door for instant impact.
Care Information

Planting Advice for your Cordyline 'Pink Passion':

  • Plant out of direct sunlight which can affect the colour of the leaves.
  • Shrub roots generally tend to spread out rather than down, so dig a planting hole 3 x wider than the roots of the shrub you're planting and mix some well-rotted compost or manure with the soil from the hole and use this to re-fill once the shrub is in place.
  • Before planting soak container-grown shrubs thoroughly and allow to drain.
  • Remove the plant from its pot and tease out a few of the roots.
  • Add Mycorrhizal fungi to the roots when planting to help plants establish quicker.
Place your shrub in the hole at the same level at the pot.
  • Refill the hole with the earth removed (backfilling).
  • Firm in the soil with your heel, avoiding the root ball and water well.
  • Mulch around the base of the plant with a collar, compost, gravel, bark etc
  • If you’re planting into pots, place some old rocks, stones or gravel in the bottom of the pot for drainage and ballast.
  • Use the best compost you can buy such as our premium professional compost along with some sand or grit for drainage.

Aftercare Advice for 'Pink Passion' Cordyline

  • Water plants freely during the growing season, and sparingly in winter.
  • Feed monthly with a balanced, liquid fertiliser from spring to late summer.
  • Top-dress or pot up in spring.
  • Although frost hardy, young Cordyline plants, and also coloured varieties are more prone to cold damage.
This can be prevented by tying up the foliage to reduce wind damage and prevent water collecting around growing points and causing rotting.
  • In areas prone to severe winters, wrap the trunk with layers of fleece and place a 15cm (6in) layer of mulch, such as bark, over the root area.
  • Move container grown plants to a frost-free location, such as a greenhouse, during periods of cold or wet weather – temporary shelter in a shed or garage will do.

Pruning Advice for Pink Passion:

  • Pruning is not normally necessary; just remove any dead or damaged leaves with a sharp pair of secateurs.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
