Peony 'Duchesse de Nemours' is a traditional variety with fragrant, fully double blooms. Its large white flowers can reach 15-20cm (6-8in) across and are blushed lightly with yellow giving them a delicate ivory glow.
The outer petals are rounded and frame the ruffled inner petals beautifully, plus this peony is said to smell very much like Lily of the Valley, making it a fragrant addition to any garden.
Contrasting with the flowers beautifully, the green leaves form a good-sized clump and will remain attractive right up to the first frost, when it colours up magically for renewed seasonal interest.
Perfect as a specimen plant or in groups, especially lining a path or dotted through a cottage garden, the fabulous blooms make great cut flowers too.
Fully deserving its coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure that this is a proven garden performer, guaranteed to be suitable for UK gardeners at every level of experience.
You can therefore plant this in the garden with confidence, for stunning displays for many years to come.
Supplied as 3 x bare root plants ready for immediate planting.
