Marvellous flowerheads with uniquely shaded petals grow in abundance from the healthy plants of Geum ‘Orange Pumpkin’. These provide a show of double ruffled pom-poms all summer long, in an orange shade that almost makes them too hot to handle!
Uniform mounds of foliage grow with a neat habit, making these perfect problem-solvers for filling border edges or containers, although the surprisingly airy appearance also lends them to cottage-style gardens.
When in bloom, flowers dance proudly atop the foliage, on short stems. The pedigree of this flower is clear, having been shortlisted in the ‘Plant of the Year’ competition at the 2023 RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Can’t get enough of the beauty? Do not fear as the repeat flowering nature ensures superb colour continues to appear from spring to early autumn days. Just make sure to cut back older stems to encourage more flowers to form.
These hardy perennials can be planted at any time of the year that ground conditions are not frozen or waterlogged, happily growing in moist, well-drained soil, in sunny or partially shaded corners of the garden.
Supplied as a set of three established plants in 9cm pots, ready to plant.
These perennials will die back to ground level each year, in the autumn, but will return with new growth in the spring.
In early spring or late autumn, be sure to lift and divide large clumps.
