Product Information

Heleniums, also known as sneezeweed, flower over a long period from June, guaranteeing you a spectacular display, year after year.

Bursting from deep bronze buds, ‘Moerheim Beauty’ produces an endless display of dark-centred, copper-red flowers splashed with orange from early summer into autumn. Held on tall, straight stems, perfect for cutting and bringing into the home for a splash of rich colour.

Fiery red petals form in a ring around a prominent brown button centre, gradually transitioning to yellow with age, making way for a wave of stamens to appear. Perfect for late season colour, continuing to flower abundantly when most other plants are fading away.

Fully deserving its coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure that this is a proven garden performer, guaranteed to be suitable for UK gardeners at every level of experience. You can therefore plant this in the garden with confidence, for stunning displays for many years to come. It’s also recommended by the RHS as a 'Plant for Pollinators', with flowers that are a favourite with butterflies and bees.

Supplied as a set of three established plants in 9cm pots, ready to plant.

Top Tips

  • Deadhead regularly to prolong blooming and cut back by half when flowering has finished. Plants can be cut to the ground in autumn.

Care Information

  • Grow in any fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Provide support for the best results, especially in exposed areas.
  • To keep sneezeweed happy, divide clumps every three years or so to rejuvenate them.
  • Before planting, prepare the soil by digging over and removing any weeds. Incorporate some well-rotted manure to enrich the soil if necessary.
  • When planting a number of perennials, arrange them on the surface so you can see how they will look before planting.
  • Individually knock out each plant from its container. Look at the roots – if they are circling around the compost, it is best to tease them out. To do this, push your fingers into the rootball along the bottom edge and pull. Do this in a couple of places. This should encourage the roots to spread into the surrounding soil.
  • Next use a trowel or spade to create a hole just deep and wide enough to set in the rootball.
  • The aim is to bury just the roots, leaving the bases of the stems (when in growth in summer) or the shoots (in spring) above ground.
  • Firm back around the soil, using your hand for small clumps and your heel on larger areas.
  • Water in well to settle the soil and prevent desiccation.
