Creeping phloxes are dainty, colourful evergreen perennials that create wonderful blankets of spring colour during April and May and are just the thing for dotting around borders and make excellent groundcover for keeping weeds at bay.
Completely covered in masses of star-like flowers along with attractive needle-like foliage, each plant will spread to 60cm (2ft) across and is the perfect choice for rock gardens and for edging paths and borders. Also known as creeping moss phlox, you can grow it in mixed borders in full sun as well as in all manner of containers – such versatile plants and a spectacular sight in full flower!
As well as making an invaluable groundcover plant, carpet phlox is virtually maintenance free and hardy, needing very little in the way of aftercare, and they’re attractive to pollinating insects too, providing a valuable source of early nectar!
