Product Information

‘Incredible’ is an amazing collection of shrub roses that have been specially bred to have edible flowers. Each one has its own flavour and scent, and the petals can be used in deserts and salads. Organically grown in the Netherlands by breeder Willianne Sluiter, they are a wonderful addition to your garden.

Luxurious double flowers with pure white outer petals that become more and more creamy towards the centre make this an extremely attractive rose. ‘Incredible Creamy’ blooms have the distinctive fragrance of fresh sour cream, and the smoothly textured petals have a lovely, rich creamy and buttery taste. The flavour is ideal as a garnish for spicy meat and vegetable dishes, where the creaminess offsets the heat, and it also works well as an accompaniment for citrus ice cream and drinks.

These gorgeous roses have lush, deep green, glossy foliage and flower from June to September. Grow them in your borders or kitchen garden, and they’re more than happy growing in a large pot on the patio, so you can pick the flowers fresh for a tasty al fresco garnish.

Supplied as an established rose in a 10.5cm pot, ready for planting, growing to a height of 90cm (2½ft) and spread of 40cm (16in).

Supplied as an established rose in a 10.5cm pot.

Top Tips

  • Roses are hungry plants. Feed with a general-purpose fertiliser until flower buds begin to form.
  • Once in flower, use a high-potash fertiliser – such as tomato feed – for more flowers.

Care Information

  • Grow in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun.Roses can be planted at any time of the year, as long as the soil is not frozen, waterlogged or drought-dry.
  • Plant your rose where it can get plenty of sun for at least half of the day, and where it will be sheltered from the wind.
  • Plant with the graft union just below the soil level.
  • Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, so add plenty of well-rotted manure into the hole if necessary.
  • Water well every other day - daily if the weather is hot and dry.
  • Established roses can be watered around once a week through spring and summer - more if the weather is hot.
  • For best results, feed roses in late March or April and again late July.
  • Provide good air circulation and remove fallen leaves and faded flowers to keep plants in tip-top condition.
  • In late winter or early spring, prune hard (back to 10 -18 inches) and reduce sideshoots to 2 or 3 buds.
  • To renovate out of condition plants, or to add renewed vigour, prune one in three stems close to the base.
  • To prune, you would traditionally cut just above a leaf joint with a sloping cut away from the bud, however, this isn't necessary, and don’t worry about pruning too much - roses are very resilient and will grow back.
