Description

Wake up your garden in spring with the abundant, bright anemone-like blooms of Camellia 'Brushfield's Yellow', scattering across a shrub of rich, glossy evergreen foliage.

A border favourite, this Camellia bursts into bloom with big flowers that measure up to 10cm across. Crisp white outer petals frame a softly ruffled, creamy yellow centre that glows against rich, dark green, glossy foliage.

This is fully hardy, dependable and exceptionally well suited to UK gardens, even coping happily in shaded spots where many other shrubs struggle. 'Brushfield's Yellow' thrives in borders, works beautifully as a statement shrub, and performs just as well in large patio containers.

It delivers structure all year thanks to its evergreen nature, then rewards patience with a breathtaking spring display when the garden is desperate for colour.

Reliable, long lived and it even improves with age, eventually reaching around 4 metres tall and 2.5 metres wide.

Supplied as an established plant in a 5 litre pot, ready to plant.

Top Tips
Be sure to deadhead Camellias when the flowers appear to start fading. This will not boost flowering the following growing season, but will avoid an unsightly browning flower from ruining your display.
Care Information
  • For best results, plant in moist and well-drained, neutral, or acidic soil in a space that is partially shaded, with some shelter from chilling winds.
  • Plant in autumn when the soil is still warm. This will help roots to establish before the harsh winter conditions set in.
  • When planting multiple Camellia, space at least 3-5m apart to allow ample room to establish.
  • Prior to planting, prepare the ground by clearing away any weeds, where necessary, and digging over the area to prime for planting.

Watering

  • Camellias should be watered regularly when newly planted, particularly for the first 18 months or so.
  • Keep the soil moist, checking if the soil is dry at a depth of roughly 10cm. If this soil is dry, then water the plant well.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
