Product Information

A zingy orange burst of colour emerges on these evergreen Azalea shrubs, which are perfect options for introducing life into tired borders and pots.

Impressive bright orange flowers emerge and coat green stems at the tail end of spring and the start of summer, around April and May.

While the colour of the blooms is impressive, it only stands out more as it contrasts excellently against the dark green leaves that remain in place regardless of the month.

Japanese Azaleas have developed an excellent reputation to look impressive whether potted up for the patio or used in borders as ground cover. Thanks to a dwarf nature, these shrubs only grow up to a uniform and easy-to-manage 100cm across a decade.

Supplied as three established plants in 9cm pots, ready for planting.

Top Tips

  • Ideal for pots (remember to use ericaceous compost) but must be fed and watered well and repotted every couple of years.

Care Information

  • Azaleas can tolerate a more open site as long as they are sheltered from cold, drying winds and early morning sunlight. Mulch plants and water deeply and regularly during dryer periods from July onwards.
  • This should be planted slightly higher than in a pot, into well-draining soil.
  • Azaleas need an acidic soil with a pH of around 5.5 in order to thrive – soils with pH higher than 5.5 should be acidified before planting or you can grow these plants in a container with ericaceous compost.
  • When watering, try to use rainwater as tap water tends to be too hard and more alkaline.
  • Plants benefit from a yearly feed, and our Azalea, Rhododendron and Shrub feed is the ideal formulation.
