Product Information

For months of interest, this incredible, deciduous Cercis tree will make a wonderful addition to your garden with eye-catching spring blossom, fascinating heart-shaped leaves and colour changing foliage.

A medium-sized deciduous multi-stemmed ornamental tree grown for its wonderful foliage. In spring, clusters of small, pea-like flowers open on the bare stems. These are followed by stunning, heart-shaped leaves, making this tree one of the most spectacular that you can plant for foliage colour, and it gets better and better every year. Grows to 8m (26ft) in 10 years.

This fabulous tree is fully deserving its coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure that this is a proven garden performer, guaranteed to be suitable for UK gardeners at every level of experience. You can therefore plant this in the garden with confidence, for stunning displays for many years to come. The blossom is adored by early pollinators, therefore plant these trees in your garden if you are wanting to encourage more wildlife into your garden.

Top Tips

Cercis can be left to grow naturally, or pruned to control its size and shape.

  • Spread the roots gently and place into the planting hole.
  • Mix well rotted compost or manure with the soil taken from the hole and then use to backfill around the tree.
  •  Keep well-watered until established.
  • No routine pruning is necessary apart from removing any twisted, damaged or dead branches in early spring.
