Not a plant that is often offered for sale in the UK, this delightful flowering shrub erupts in a display of bell-shaped, primrose yellow flowers that drip from its bare, arching branches in winter and spring.
The drooping blooms consists of pendant sprays of dainty cup-shaped flowers and can reach up to 8cm in length, creating a cascading effect that is a sight to behold.
A particular favourite of early season pollinators, Stachyurus has been recommended by the RHS as a Plant for Pollinators and similarly, has attained the coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit - so you can be sure that this is a proven garden performer, guaranteed to be suitable for UK gardeners at every level of experience, giving stunning displays for many years to come.
Perfect for adding winter interest to the garden when there's not a lot of colour about, Stachyurus is ideal in a border or when grown against a wall and is happiest in slightly acidic soil. Fully hardy to around -15°C it'll also add autumn interest as the leaves colour up with pink tones before falling.
