Description

Distinctly Different And Instantly Recognisable! A Patio-Perfect Lavender With Unique Spring To Summer Blooms - And Still Just As Fragrant And Adored By Pollinators.

Lavender stoechas breaks away from the familiar, slender flower spikes of traditional English lavender. Its chunky, pinecone-shaped blooms are topped with large, colourful bracts that stand upright like rabbit ears.

This is a superb choice for creating a Mediterranean mood in a sunny patio pot, gravel garden or warm border. The evergreen, bushy plant doesn't demand a great deal of space, while the aromatic foliage releases a sharper, more herbal fragrance than the sweeter scent usually associated with English lavender.

Flowering begins in late spring, with further flushes possible through summer when spent flower heads are removed regularly. The distinctive blooms draw the attention of bees and other pollinators, adding life and movement to your display.

Its compact shape, bold flowers and Mediterranean character make this a lavender to place where it can be seen up close, beside a doorway, seating area or along a sunny path.

Supplied as an established plant in a 2 litre pot, ready to plant.

Top Tips
Enjoy a second flush of flowers by cutting back once the first wave of blooms fade.
Care Information
  • Drought-tolerant, lavender thrives in a sunny border, container, herb or gravel gardens.
  • Best planted between April and when the soil is warming up, ensure the plants gets really good drainage.
  • There's no need to improve the soil as lavender thrives in any poor or moderately fertile conditions.
  • Lavender plants should be pruned every year to keep them compact.
  • Once established, prune by using secateurs to remove flower stalks and about 2.5cm of the current year’s growth - usually in late summer, after flowering -  making sure that some green growth remains.
  • You can prune lighty in April if required.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property.
