An Amazing Opportunity To Own Three Of The Most Celebrated Japanese Maples At An Extraordinary Price!

Few plants match the Japanese Maple for sheer, season-long drama. In spring, the emerging foliage is breathtaking.

Through summer, the colours deepen and contrast beautifully. Come autumn, all three varieties put on a final, fiery flourish before the bare winter stems bring their own quiet elegance to the garden.

This carefully chosen collection gives you one each of three outstanding varieties, selected to complement each other perfectly through every season.

Slow growing by nature, they're ideal for pots, patios and smaller gardens, and far easier to grow than most people imagine.

Normally expensive to buy, this is a remarkable opportunity to establish three of the finest Japanese Maples available at a genuinely outstanding price.

Varieties Included:

  • Acer palmatum 'Atropurpureum': Deep burgundy-purple leaves that turn an even more brilliant shade of bright red in Autumn, just before they fall. The classic red-leaved maple.
  • Acer 'Orange Dream': New bright orange growth, which fades to yellow in the autumn. It is a great specimen shrub that grows to 2m over 20 years. Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
  • Acer palmatum 'Emerald Lace': Feathery green leaves all summer, taking on autumnal red hues later in the year. Grows to 1.5m over 20 years. Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit.

Supplied in 10.5cm pots, one of each variety approximately 20cm tall and well branched.

Note: Due to this product being available all year, in some weeks we reserve the right to substitute some varieties

Top Tips
Plants enjoy regular watering and a sheltered position to keep the leaves at their best. Leaf colour is best in partial shade, although full sun can be tolerated as long as the plants are well watered.
Care Information

Planting Advice for your Acer Collection:

  • If your soil is slightly acidic, then you have the perfect conditions to grow Japanese maples - however do not worry if you have not as most can be grown in other soils as long as they are not wet, dry or very alkaline.
  • If growing in a pot, use a 50/50 mix of ericaceous and multipurpose compost if you can - although again don't worry overly about this.
  • If planting in the garden, prepare a wide hole and loosen the soil with a fork, incorporating organic matter as needed to improve moisture retention and condition.
  • Plant your Acer so that the top of the root ball is just slightly below ground level.
  • Fill the planting hole with soil and heel well in. Water well.

Aftercare advice for your Acers:

  • Leaf colour is best in partial shade, although full sun can be tolerated as long as the plant is well watered.
  • Avoid exposed places as leaves can suffer with windburn (scorch), especially if the plant is dry.
  • Allow your Japanese Maple to get used to a whole day in the sun by starting it off in the shade, then standing it in its final sunny spot (in pot or in the garden soil) for one hour longer every day for a week.
  • Water regularly and deeply.
  • Feed with our specialist Acer feed.
  • Mulch every couple of years with well-rotted garden compost or well-rotted manure or leaf mould.

Pruning advice for your Acer Collection:

  • Acers generally do not need pruning, just remove any branches that are dead or damaged.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
