Description

Harvesting oranges and lemons from your own pots is one of the best pleasures of gardening - and these established citrus trees make it so achievable!

This collection includes two classic fruiting favourites, each already growing strongly in its own 4 litre pot. Grow them in decorative containers and they will bring instant good looks to sunny patios, balconies, bright porches and conservatories. Glossy leaves, scented flowers and colourful fruit.

The orange tree produces white spring to early summer flowers, followed by seedless fruit that ripens from late autumn onwards once the plant has settled.

The lemon tree can bloom from late spring through the season, with fruits ripening from late summer towards the end of the year in warm, bright conditions.

Both trees enjoy a sunny, sheltered position outdoors during the warmer months, before being moved to a cool, bright, frost-free place for winter. Water freely in summer, reduce watering in winter, and feed regularly through the growing season.

The included Citrus Summer Feed gives hungry potted citrus the targeted nutrition they need through the growing season, supporting strong leafy growth, healthier plants and better fruiting potential.

Supplied as an established orange tree in a 4 litre pot, approximately 60-90cm tall, one established lemon tree in a 4 litre pot, approximately 70-90cm tall, plus one 200g tub of Citrus Summer Feed.

How to use Vitax Citrus Summer Feed:

  • Mix 5g (1 teaspoon) of Vitax Citrus Summer Feed in 2.5 litres (4 pints) water and apply weekly from April to September.
  • Ensure the compost does not dry out between feeds, keeping sil moist, but not waterlogged.

Top Tips
  • For best results, bring indoors to a cool area for winter.
  • Feed with specialist feed every month in spring and summer growth - they are hungry fellows.
  • Care Information
    • The sweetly fragrant blossom appears in the late spring and can sometimes continue to flower sporadically over the rest of the year. Especially in late winter, and fruit ripens up to 12 months later - so plants are often in flower and fruiting at the same time.
    • Citrus tend not to thrive in centrally heated homes, so from mid-Jun to late September, give plants a treat and transfer them outside to make the most of the available sunshine - but remember they are not frost tolerant so will need bringing under cover if cold nights threaten.
    • Only minimal pruning is required to reshape or remove dead or damaged shoots.

    Watering:

    • In summer, water freely - ideally using rainwater, while in winter you can reduce the amount - allowing the surface to partially dry out before watering again. Always allow excess water to drain away.
    • Our beautiful Mediterranean citrus trees are grown in a slightly heavier growing medium, so be sure to take care when watering. Be sure not to overwater, as with all your plants, but also make sure not to allow the soil to dry out.
    Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
