Superb nectarine trees that produce mouth-watering fruit with a taste rarely matched – no wonder they're called ‘Flavourtop’!
Producing your own sweet fruits is one of the most satisfying and rewarding outcomes from gardening, so why not give it a go yourself?
These trees are not just top notch for the yields of nectarines, but for the ornamental foliage and flurry of springtime blossom.
Self-fertile pink flowers emerge in early spring, typically in April. These blooms are delightful – with just a handful of delicate soft pink petals surrounding darker stamens, coating the branches of the trees.
The red-skinned fruits with a rich yellow flesh should be ready for picking in June or July, when the colour has fully ripened. Eat straight from the trees for the best experience as the smooth skin will be warmed from basking in the summer sun.
As the flowers emerge early in spring when very few pollinators will be active, it is important to help your ‘Flavourtop’ along by gently dabbing the centre of the flowers with a small paintbrush on springtime afternoons. Plant in your garden’s sunniest spots for optimal crops!
For out-of-this-world flavour, these really are the fruit trees for you – the nectarines of ‘Flavourtop’ boast a flavour that is delicately sweet, without overwhelming the tastebuds.
Supplied as a pair of established trees, 90-110cm tall, in 5L pots, ready for planting.
