Grow something a bit different and versatile! The nutty taste of almonds awaits with these delightful trees of blossoming beauty.
In early spring, even before the foliage has had chance to break through, pale pink flowers with an encapsulating perfume emerge to coat the stems that have been left bare by winter conditions.
Labelled by the RHS as ‘Plants for Pollinators’, the scent and colour of the bowl-shaped blossoms particularly draw the attention of bees and butterflies.
Dark green lanced leaves are gently serrated at the edge, opening shortly after the flowers and adding excellent coverage for velvety, oval-shaped green fruits that hold the all-important almond nuts.
But be patient! The nuts need until the tail end of summer, or even early autumn before they are ready for harvesting and the hard hull will gracefully split open to reveal the nut. The green foliage will fade to a seasonal shade of yellow orange in autumn.
Don’t just fill your garden orchard with everyday apples and pears – grow almond trees to enjoy the earthy nuts, which can be eaten raw, roasted for a salty snack, or even added to recipes to develop a nutty taste in your cooking.
Supplied as a pair of established trees, 90-110cm tall, in 5L pots, ready for planting.
For best performance, grow in a sunny location of the garden, which is sheltered from cold winds, in fertile, yet well-drained soil with plenty of organic matter included to boost moisture retention.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.
Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.
Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.
Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
