Description

Now everyone can grow fruit trees in the minimum of space! These incredible duo fruit trees have been meticulously grafted by highly skilled nurserymen to yield two different pear varieties growing on one rootstock! What's more, the rootstocks are dwarfing, meaning that your trees will always remain compact!

They are perfect for anyone who loves the idea of picking their own home-grown fresh fruit, but has limited space. Each of the varieties will produce bumper crops of delicious, full-sized fruit. Because they are already trained into a V shape, they are perfect for growing up a wall or fence.

Conference Pear – Produces a large crop of fruits with clear, white flesh that are ready to pick each September. The long, tapering fruits are packed with an irresistible sweetness and lip-smacking juice that will drip from your chin when you bite into a ripe one! Because of its outstanding flavour, it remains the most popular pear grown in Britain by a long measure, both in commercial orchards and home gardens. It is perfect for you to grow because it is very heavy cropping and when picked unripe, is great for keeping for 2 or more months. Crops: September–October

Louise Bonne of Jersey – You will struggle to beat the rich, buttery, and juicy taste of these pears! So much so, they are a perfect choice for a sweet dessert pear to finish a home-cooked meal. Good-sized fruit are a pale greenish yellow, with pink-tinged flesh. Plus, as an RHS recommended ‘Plant for Pollinators’, this hardy variety is loved by bees. Crops: October – November

Top Tips
Add Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi to give your plants a head start and establish more quickly.
Care Information
  • Apply a slow-release fertiliser, such as blood, fish and bone, in early spring, and mulch to retain moisture.
  • Water regularly, and don't let the soil dry out if planted in pots.
  • Established trees don't require radical pruning; just take off any diseased, dying or damaged branches (the three Ds). Look at the overall shape and aim for an open structure of branches, and remove any that cross over so they don't damage each other.
  • Hang wasp traps in trees and harvest crops as soon as they ripen. Avoid leaving windfalls or overripe fruit on the ground.
  • Don't forget the tree guards as rabbits can strip the bark overnight.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
