Description

When the rest of the garden begins to fade, these fiery orange violas step into the spotlight, ensuring your outdoor spaces never lose their sparkle. With flowers from autumn right through to spring, they're the hardy bedding stars that carry colour across the coldest months of the year.

The 'Pumpkin' Mix stands out for its depth of colour. This rich, glowing orange is rarely seen in violas. Each bloom resembles a miniature pansy, bold yet perfectly balanced against fresh green foliage. This striking contrast makes their colour pop even more, turning baskets, borders and pots into glowing beacons of warmth.

Performance is where this mix really shines. These violas don't just flower for a few weeks, they keep going. Throughout autumn and winter, they produce bloom after bloom, shrugging off rain, wind and frost. Then, as spring arrives, they burst into a final crescendo of rich colour that signals the start of the new season.

Compact and versatile, they slot neatly into almost any scheme. Edge a border with their glowing tones, pack baskets and patio containers for a bright winter display, or use them as part of a formal bedding design. However you use them, they'll deliver months of cheer.

Hardy, tough and reliable, they're perfect for beginners or busy gardeners who want guaranteed results without fuss. Plant them once and enjoy months of glowing orange, no complicated care required.

Top Tips
Deadhead regularly to encourage more blooms.
Care Information

Planting advice for your Violas

  • Unpack plugs immediately and stand them in water for an hour.
  • If you can’t do this, they can sit in their mini greenhouse for a week if upright and not too wet.
  • Plugs may be slightly dry or yellow after being in a dark box in the post, but they’ll quickly recover.
  • Put them somewhere warm, light and airy such as a windowsill or greenhouse.
  • When potting on, handle plugs carefully. Pot on using our 9cm pots in Shuttle Trays, using good multi-purpose compost.
  • Alternatively plant straight into baskets and grow on for a week or two before hanging up.
  • Give your plants a good water initially, then only when the top compost starts to dry. They don’t like to be left in standing water.
  • Plant approx. 20cm apart to allow them room to grow.
  • Feed using a high-potash feed such as Blooming Fast Superior Soluble Fertiliser for Flowers & Fruits, to encourage flowering.
  • Dead head when flowers fade to encourage more flowers.

Aftercare advice

  • Regular maintenance and watering are essential to grow fabulous baskets that last the whole season.
Check and water baskets every day in summer, (unless the compost is wet).
  • Aim to keep the compost moist but not soggy and avoid wetting the foliage and flowers.
  • From March to June, apply a general-purpose liquid fertiliser once a week.

Pruning and trimming

  • Deadhead and trim your plants regularly to maintain shape and encourage new flowers.
  • Do not allow plants to set seed.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
