Product Information

A beautiful climbing rose that bursts to life with an abundance of blooms during the warm summer months.

This rose boasts glossy green foliage to elevate the peach and ripe-rich strawberry blooms, which fragrantly repeat flower for many months. Leaves hold well and remain in place until late season, offering remarkable ground coverage.

A plethora of stunning and unique blooms can be seen on this free-flowering climber, providing an eye-catching focal-point to attract pollinators to the garden. This hardy climber is a strong and reliable rose with excellent disease resistance. A superb addition to grow over small walls and fences.

'Peach Melba' is so impressive that it was even crowned the ‘Rose of the Year’ for 2023, thanks to proven dependability and garden performance.

Supplied as a bare root rose, ready for planting.

What Is Supplied

Item 540234 supplied as:

Supplied as one bare root.

  • The amount of growth on potted roses will vary at different times of year, depending on when they are potted.
  • Potted roses will be freshly potted from November to February, so are not fully rooted through.
  • They will have new shoots beginning in March and April.
  • They will be in leaf and then buds May and June.
  • They will be in flower June and July.
  • From August onwards they may be trimmed back, ready to plant and burst back into life the next season.
  • From the end of September your rose has received its trim which will help it to have stronger roots and better form next year.

Top Tips

Soak root balls overnight before planting and do not allow to dry out once planted, especially March - May. Feed well in first year to get established, and dead-head as needed to prolong flowering. Mulch with well-rotted manure or composted bark in first autumn.

Care Information

  • Roses can be planted at any time of the year, as long as the soil is not frozen, waterlogged or drought-dry.
  • Plant your rose where it can get plenty of sun for at least half of the day, and where it will be sheltered from the wind.
  • Add plenty of well-rotted manure into the hole and plant so that the graft union (the swollen area when the stems meet the roots) is just below soil level.
  • Water well every other day - daily if the weather is hot and dry.
  • Established roses can be watered around once a week through spring and summer - more if the weather is hot.
  • For best results, feed roses in late-March/April and again in late July.
  • To prune, just remove any dead, dying, damaged and diseased stems.
  • Traditionally, you would cut just above a leaf joint with a sloping cut away from the bud, however, this isn't necessary, and don’t worry about pruning too much - roses are very resilient and will grow back.
