Product Information

A twist on the classic Begonia, these beautiful fringed Begonias produce stunning carnation-like flowers in abundance in summer.

The blooms are made up of layer upon layer of ruffled petals with crimped edges, adding something a little bit different to your begonia displays. In a mix of vibrant colours, they’ll really stand out of the crowd.

These bulbs will produce impressive displays from early July to late autumn each year, meaning you’ll get flowers all summer long. Very easy to grow, the tubers last for years – just store them over winter.

Fill up pots, containers, baskets and borders with these bright and colourful Begonias and watch as your garden comes to life with colour!

Supplied as a pack of 10 tubers, ready to plant out from January to April.

Care Information

  • Begonia tubers will start into growth from February onwards. The easiest way is to put them into shallow tray with a good quality compost which has been moistened.
  • Plant the tubers with the domed side downwards and the hollow uppermost.
  • Shoots will start to emerge depending on temperatur, we recommend that you start them off in a warm room.
  • As soon as the shoots of the tubers are about 2cm (1in) long pot them up in 15cm (4in) pots. As soon as the roots reach the sides of the pot, they're ready to go into baskets.
  • Alternatively, you can plant the tubers straight into baskets and tubs where they are to flower and grow them on in warm, frost-free conditions.
  • Outside, grow in full sun or partial shaded areas. The sunnier the site, the more vibrant the colours will be. Feed once every two weeks with a high potassium feed while in flower, and deadhead regularly to encourage further flowers.
  • For best results keep plants well watered, and feed fortnightly with a high-potash fertiliser to prolong flowering. Take care not to over-water, as this will cause new begona flower buds to drop.
  • Remove faded flowers to encourage more blooms.
