Product Information

Bulbs such as Daffodils herald the arrival of spring and these bright bloomers are a must-have for any spring garden.

With distinctive trumpets, there are few flowers which are as instantly recognisable. 'Trumpet Yellow' brings bright sunshine shades to spring gardens and even into the home!

As an abundant flowering variety, this provides plenty of vivid flowers. Plant in groups of 6-10 for maximum impact, in full sun or semi-shade, either on their own or with other spring-flowering bulbs of different colours for an eye-catching display.

Reliable and hardy, they are possibly the easiest plant to grow - just dig a hole, add the bulbs, cover them up and leave them alone! They'll grow almost anywhere too, even happy in light shade, but they do prefer a free-draining soil.

Leave the bulbs in the ground after the flowers have died back, and they'll naturalise to reward you with bigger, better displays, each year for many years to come.

They also make a fabulous cut flower – not least for their wonderfully strong fragrance – so be sure to plant enough to fill your vases several times over.

Supplied as a pack of 20 bulbs, size 12/14 ready for planting on the autumn.

  • Which way up? Pointy end up usually, but don't worry, they soon right themselves in the ground anyway.

Care Information

Planting Advice for your Narcissus bulbs:

  • Plant bulbs at twice the depth of the height of the bulb and four times their width apart. e.g. 5cm tall bulbs need to be planted 10cm below the surface of the ground and 20cm apart.
  • For a natural look, throw a handful onto a grassy area and then plant them where they fall.
  • Please check the bag for any additional planting instructions.
  • They are fine to plant even if a little green growth is showing, they'll just need a good watering when you plant them, and then only when the soil is dry.
  • Leave them in the ground once they die back and they'll come back bigger and better each year.
  • While all the energy that a bulb needs in order to grow is stored in the bulb itself, they will do better if you feed them when in active green growth.
  • Plant in herbaceous borders, in pots, or leave in the ground to naturalise.
  • If planted in pots be sure to water frequently and keep moist.

Aftercare Advice for your daffodils:

  • Spring-flowering bulbs should be planted in the autumn for displays next season. This allows them to establish a good root system before the weather becomes too cold.
  • Plant in herbaceous borders, in pots, or leave in the ground to naturalise.
  • Water frequently and if in posts ensure that the compost doesn't dry out.
  • Use a good quality potting compost such as our premium professional compost for the best results.

Cutting your daffodils back:

  • Leave foliage to die back naturally after flowering, never tie up the foliage or cut is back while still green.
  • This allows as much energy as possible to go back into the bulbs for the following year. Only cut back the foliage once it has turned yellow or brown.
