Rose ‘Amirose’
If there’s ever been a rose that ticks every box for beauty, performance and ease, ‘Amirose’ is it. Chosen as our Plant of the Month for August, this delightful little powerhouse delivers flower after flower, up to 150 days of them, while shrugging off pests, disease, and unpredictable weather. Whether you’re just starting out with roses or are a seasoned grower looking for something refreshingly different, ‘Amirose’ is a clever choice that truly earns its keep.
Compact and tidy in shape, this modern Persica hybrid thrives in borders, containers, and even patio spaces, all while putting on a floral show that changes colour as it goes. From rosy peach buds through to soft pink and gentle white blooms, each flower evolves before your eyes, keeping your garden display dynamic and interesting for months on end. And the best bit? It’s virtually care-free. Fully hardy, naturally disease-resistant and low maintenance, ‘Amirose’ brings the beauty of a rose without the fuss.
What Makes Rose ‘Amirose’ So Special?
Let’s talk about that colour shift, as it’s not something you see every day. As the blooms open, they gently change from peach buds to blush pink, then fade to white, giving your garden a constantly evolving display that looks almost like you’ve planted three varieties in one. It’s incredibly pretty, especially when paired with other summer favourites like lavender or salvia.
But ‘Amirose’ isn’t just about looks. This is a rose that earns its keep. Bred for resilience, it’s fully hardy and boasts outstanding disease resistance. It holds its foliage well too, staying neat and tidy right through the season.

What really impresses is how easy it is to grow. Pop it in a sunny spot, water it during dry spells, and it will reward you with up to five months of blooms from late spring to early autumn. No complicated pruning schedules or constant feeding routines needed, just a bit of care and you’re off.
Perfect for small gardens, patios, balconies or as colourful ground cover in borders. Even if you’re new to roses, this is the perfect place to start. And if you’re an old hand, it’s a brilliant addition that offers something fresh and fun.
Why You Need Roses in Your Summer Garden
There’s nothing quite like a rose in full bloom to lift the spirit and bring a touch of romance to the garden. Roses add structure, scent, colour and joy, whether growing in a pot on the patio or filling out a mixed border.
Modern varieties like ‘Amirose’ are bred for performance as well as looks, meaning you get all the charm with a lot less faff. They provide long-lasting blooms that are perfect for pollinators, offer real value in terms of flowering period, and bring a classic beauty that works in any garden style, from cottage to contemporary.
With the right choice, like ‘Amirose’, you’ll get effortless results that last all summer and beyond.
You’ve purchased Rose ‘Amirose’ – here’s how to plant and grow it
When it arrives:
Take your rose out of the box as soon as you can. Remove any packaging and give it a good drink of water if the soil feels dry. Keep it in a sheltered spot until you’re ready to plant.
Planting in the ground:
Choose a sunny, well-drained spot. Dig a hole twice the size of the pot, loosen the soil and mix in some well-rotted compost or rose food. Remove the rose from its pot, tease out the roots, and plant at the same depth it was growing in the pot. Firm in and water well.
Planting in a pot:
Pick a container at least 30cm in diameter with drainage holes. Use a quality multipurpose or rose-specific compost, and add a layer of gravel or crocks for drainage. Plant it at the same level as the pot and water thoroughly.
Ongoing care:
- Water regularly in dry weather, especially in pots.
- Feed every 4–6 weeks during the growing season with a rose fertiliser. Try our Ultimate Rose ‘Bloom Booster’ Complete Fertiliser, for reliable results!
- Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowers.
- Lightly prune in late winter or early spring to shape and remove dead wood.
- In winter, ensure pots are raised off the ground to avoid waterlogging, but there’s no need for extra protection as ‘Amirose’ is fully hardy.
