The Queen’s Favourite Flowers

Queen Elizabeth famously cherished flowers and loved gardening. The floral tributes to Queen Elizabeth during her funeral were on a scale that amazed all of us. Her wreath, heavily featuring roses, and chosen by King Charles III was widely watched from all over the world during the poignant ceremony and contained some of the Queen’s favourite flowers from around her various homes. It is widely known that the Queen’s favourite flower was the Lily of the Valley.

Rose Queen Elizabeth and the Rose Platinum Jubilee, launched in 2022, have always ranked among our most popular roses.

Rose Platinum Jubilee

The Queen's favourite flower

Having acceded the throne on 2nd February 1952 at the age of 25, Queen Elizabeth II celebrated the achievement of Britain’s longest reigning monarch. After seventy years of outstanding service, join us in celebrating this historic accolade.

The gentle pink colour of the ‘Platinum Jubilee’ rose will enrich any garden regardless of its style and size. The large petals arrange in round, perfectly shaped flowers, standing out on dark, healthy green leaves. Its sweet, strong fragrance makes this rose an excellent choice for planting next to open terraces and porches.

£2.50 from the sale of each rose will be donated to QEST, The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust. This is to fund excellence and Training in Craftsmanship Skills across Britain.

The Queen’s favourite flowers are a cottage garden staple. The perfumed bell-flowers of Lily of the valley (Convallaria majalis) open in April and May and are a welcome addition to any border or patio pot. The royal roses will continue to be popular and will serve as a long term reminder of how our amazing Monarch touched the lives of many through her long years of service.

  1. I adopt land around my town and plant them up with flowers. The one near the church I have planted the border with Queen Elizabeth Roses in honour of our Queen. I cannot wait until next summer when they flower.
