It is well known that Queen Elizabeth had a wonderful love for flowers and gardening. The floral tributes to Queen Elizabeth during her funeral were on a scale that amazed all of us. Her wreath chosen by King Charles III was widely watched from all over the world during the poignant ceremony and contained some of the Queen’s favourite flowers from around her various homes. It is widely known that the Queen’s favourite flower was the Lily of the Valley.
Roses featured heavily in the wreath and some of our most popular roses have always been Rose Queen Elizabeth and the Rose Platinum Jubilee that was launched earlier in 2022.
Rose Queen Elizabeth

Rose Platinum Jubilee
This beautiful new bush rose has been produced exclusively by Harkness Roses to commemorate HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Having acceded the throne on 2nd February 1952 at the age of 25, Queen Elizabeth II celebrated the achievement of Britain’s longest reigning monarch. After seventy years of outstanding service, join us in celebrating this historic accolade.
The gentle pink colour of the ‘Platinum Jubilee’ rose will enrich any garden regardless of its style and size. Large petals of this rose variety are arranged in round, perfectly shaped flowers that beautifully stand out on its dark, healthy green leaves. The Queen’s favourite flowers are a cottage garden staple. The perfumed bell-flowers of Lily of the valley (Convallaria majalis) open in April and May and are a welcome addition to any border or patio pot. The royal roses will continue to be popular and will serve as a long term reminder of how our amazing Monarch touched the lives of many through her long years of service.
