Are you still growing without this staple of organic gardening? YouGarden TV presenter Shaun Ryan explains why you should try Cow Manure Pellets:
“If you are trying to create a drought tolerant garden, stay watching because these are the cow manure pellets.
“Now, there are many, many uses of this. First of all, this is 100% natural. It’s made from 100% composted cow manure, totally organic, and it’s a product that can help pretty much all of your plants. So I’m thinking fruit, vegetables, roses, perennials, your lawn, you can use it in pots and containers as well. And in terms of what is in here, it is incredible.
“It comes in a pellet form and you’ve got a really high percentage of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Now, that will release slowly as the pellet dissolves, and that will cover all parts of the plant. So when you think of your NPK as we call it, that’s gonna help with all the green growth, the shoots and the leaves. It’s gonna help the roots, the fruits, and the flowers, pretty much every part of the plant.
“You’ve also got a plethora of trace elements here, things like zinc, magnesium, iron, boron. In terms of it helping make your garden more drought tolerant, get this, each cow manure pellet can retain up to three times its size in water. So if you’ve got borders that are constantly drying out, maybe you’ve got areas where you’ve got plant like hydrangeas and you just want more moisture in that soil. By mixing this in, it can really, really help massively with water retention as well.
“Now, one of the questions often get asked is, how much do you need to use? Well, all the instructions are actually on the back of the pack here. To give you an idea, per square meter, it’s between maybe a hundred to 200 grams. But say everything is clearly labeled, depending on whether you’re growing fruit, veg, whether you’re putting this on your lawn or in pots and containers
“A brilliant product. I adore the fact that it is 100% natural. It is organic, but it could make a huge difference to the way that your plants grow, but also with water retention in your garden. So if you like to order yours, it comes in a 500g bag, and it is of course the 100% natural cow manure pellets.”
