Pansy Cool Wave ‘Berries & Cream’ Mix
Summer days are shining and true… for now at least, with the weather finally looking up! It’s time to make the most of your outdoor space and reap the rewards of your spring efforts. Where better than with beautiful flowering pansies?
However, there are some delightful floral varieties that impress across much of the year, regardless of the seasonal weather conditions battering against the garden. To keep you in the know, we’ve decided to highlight one of our absolute favourites for August’s Plant of the Month.
Without further ado, say a big cheery ‘hello’ to the Pansy Cool Wave ‘Berries & Cream’ Mix!
These pansies have been brought together to form picture-perfect bed, border, hanging basket, and pot displays, impressing with a long blooming period for that super flower power we all crave.
And when we say ‘long blooming’, we mean long blooming! Flowers erupt from August to May, spilling from whatever container or flowerbed they’re grown in, and even holding firm through those cold winter days.
Thriving come snow, shine, or rain, hardy in conditions as cold as -25C, and basking in the summer sun, ‘Berries & Cream’ is an all-weather wonder.
Blooms in purple, violet, and white combine for an ornate, and rather classical look – plus these senses-tingling treats release a deliciously sweet fragrance onto the breeze.
Fancy growing Pansy Cool Wave ‘Berries & Cream’ yourself? We have this variety available as garden ready plants, for immediate planting, or as pre-planted hanging baskets, which arrive already planted in a basket, able to be hung straight up, for an expert display!
Tips on How To Grow Cool Wave Berries & Cream’ Pansies
- Plant in full sun in moist and well drained fertile soil.
- Plant garden ready plants straight into baskets and grow on for a week or two prior to hanging up.
- Alternatively, plant the garden ready plants straight into decorative patio pots, or the ground.
- Give your plants a good initial water, then only when the top compost starts to dry. They don’t like to be left in standing water.
Aftercare Advice
- Regular maintenance and watering are essential to grow fabulous baskets that last the whole season.
- Check and water baskets every day in summer, unless the compost is wet to touch.
- Aim to keep the compost moist but not soggy and avoid wetting the foliage and flowers.
- From March to June, apply a general-purpose liquid fertiliser once a week.
