4 Bulk buy compost! If you’re an avid gardener, you’re going to get through a considerable amount of compost, by buying in bulk online you will be saving money, plus you have the added bonus of it being so much easier getting it delivered straight to your door.
Of course, the ultimate money-saver would be to make your own compost! However, if you haven’t the space or are looking for a short-term solution bulk buying is the way to go.
5 Know when to split perennial plants! By dividing your perennial plants you will end up with far more than you bought originally! Once established, most perennials can be split every two years or so. Autumn and Spring are best times to do this.
Splitting your plants is easy! Lift the plant carefully with a garden fork carefully removing any loose soil. By doing this, you should be able to see the plant roots. Gently tease the root mass apart with your fingers. Once split, replant and enjoy two or more plants for the price of one. Read our blog for more hints and tips.
