Product Information

Transform your patio space with three clever and easy to grow stone fruit trees. Thriving in big planters and forming idyllic potted trees, you will be plucking fresh summer fruits in no time – without even leaving your chair!

Three varieties make up this collection, including peaches, nectarines, and apricots, with ripe and ready fruits towards the end of summer and into autumn. Compact patio trees are easy to grow and maintain, behaving as they grow and producing impressive fruit harvests.

Plus, it is not just the sweet treats for you to look forward to, as each of these trees release heavenly-scented spring to summer blossom, so aromatic you’ll be transported to the sunny shores of the Mediterranean.

You can easily boost your crop size by keeping the tree canopies dry while in bloom and during periods of pollination. To do this, move the patio trees to a sheltered location, such as a conservatory, greenhouse, or lean-to.

These fruit trees are self-fertile, so do not need to be near other varieties for pollination, but you can encourage this process by rubbing a soft artist’s paintbrush from flower to flower when blooms first emerge.

Supplied as a set of three bare roots, ready for planting, including one each of the following:

  • Peach ‘Crimson’ – A beautiful peach tree with burgundy purple foliage and red-coloured peaches. Supplied as a 50-60cm tall single-grafted bare root tree.
  • Nectarine ‘Garden Beauty’ – A bounty of nectarines emerge from this compact and dwarf tree. Deep pink spring flowers are followed by yellow-fleshed summer fruit. Supplied as a dormant bare root tree, roughly 80cm tall.
  • Apricot 'Aprigold' - Compact apricot tree with soft-pink early-season blossom. Fresh leaves are tinged in orange-red. Crops of tasty apricots emerge towards the end of July, into August. Supplied as a dormant bare root tree, double-grafted bare root tree, roughly 80cm tall.

Top Tips

Keep foliage dry in spring by moving potted fruit trees to a sheltered position, such as under a canopy.

Care Information

  • It is best practice to protect blossom with fleece, and pollination can be helped by transferring pollen from one flower to another with a soft artist's brush.
  • When fruit appears, it will need thinning. Remove poorly placed, small, or misshapen fruits when they are roughly the width of your little fingernail. Aim to have a piece of fruit every 15cm or so.
  • Water container-grown trees almost every day during the growing season and give them a high potash liquid feed every couple of weeks.
  • Avoid excessive or irregular watering when fruit is starting to ripen to prevent the skin from splitting.
  • As the fruit develops it may need protection from wildlife, including birds and squirrels.
