A real relic from a time when dinosaurs walked the earth - this Sago Palm really does look like a lush prehistoric forest plant, yet is a wonderful textural and architectural beauty that is so easy to grow.
This is a member of an age-old plant called a Cycad. It looks slightly like a fern, but with tough and far more rigid fronds. Very slow growing, it forms a trunk across many years.
This plant creates an instant impact when potted up and placed on a decking, patio or balcony. We've even done the growing for you, making this the ideal way to enjoy a large and impressive plant in little time.
Grow indoors in winter, as the plants can be damaged by frost, but they do benefit from a summer holiday outside once any risk of frost has passed. They even tolerate low light well, as they almost completely shut down during the cold winter months.
Water well outdoors, as this is when new fronds emerge for the year. They look great in modern planters. Please note, there are reports this variety can be harmful to dogs if chewed.
Supplied as an established plant in an 18cm pot, ready for planting.
