Product Information

These semi-dwarf Dahlias are just the thing for bringing vivid colour to your garden. Their fabulous and vibrant flowers will brighten up even the dullest day!

Supplied as energy packed tubers, raring to go, just plant them in pots or in the garden and they will burst into life from April, producing neat, bushy plants and masses of brightly coloured flowers to fill your garden all through summer and well into autumn.

Our collection of patio dahlias will give you large, semi-double blooms in vivid shades of red, yellow, orange and pink that will reach around 60cm (2ft) tall and produce an abundance of flowers. Ideal in patio pots or in the middle area of borders, and wonderful as cut flowers.

Deadheading will prolong flowering well into autumn. Plants will survive milder winters, but we recommend lifting the tubers and storing somewhere dry and frost-free over winter. If growing in pots, simply move the pot to a frost-free place with the tubers in situ.

Supplied as a pack of 5 tubers in a mix of colours.

Top Tips

  • When the plants flower, you may notice one large central bud and smaller side buds. You can either remove the side buds to get one large flower or keep them to get more flowers which will be smaller.

Care Information

  • Dahlias are tender tubers and can be given a good start by being potted up initially in March or early April, into large pots (2 - 3L) filled with multi-purpose compost.
  • Placed in a light, frost-free place and kept moist, they'll quickly form bushy plants by the time the frosts have ended, ready to be planted out into the garden.
  • Plant 15cm (6in) deep for, spacing each tuber 30cm (1ft) apart.
If you donít have anywhere to start them in pots, you can put the tubers straight into the ground when the frosts are nearly over.
  • Once a fortnight, feed them with a liquid feed such as our Blooming Fast Superior plant feed. During dry periods, water at least once a week.
  • Dahlias should be deadheaded regularly to encourage more blooms.
