Geranium 'Ann Folkard' is a hardy geranium or Cranesbill, a variety of clump-forming perennial which will grow to around 60cm (2ft) tall and wide, rapidly forming a good clump that makes excellent groundcover for difficult parts of the garden such as dry, lightly shaded areas.
Its magenta flowers are produced in abundance from late spring to early autumn, making it one of the most prolific and long blooming geraniums that you can buy and these contrast beautifully with the lobed leaves that start bright yellow, and deepen to green as they age. When produced, the ornamental seed heads look like the long beak of a Crane - hence its common name.
Perfect if your garden is in a Cottage Garden style, geraniums are a magnet to all manner of pollinating insects such as butterflies and bees and they certainly help you do your bit for wildlife. They're also ideal for more contemporary designs as they fit in with almost anything and can be used in so many different ways from colour schemes to textural impact.
A vigorous and floriferous variety, Ann Folkard is fully deserving of its coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit and is ideal for planting in tubs or mixed containers as it's tolerant of both sun and partial shade. Easy to grow and virtually maintenance free, this tough little beauty is rarely bothered by pests such as snails and rabbits.
Supplied as an established plant in a 3L pot, ready to be planted out.
