Product Information

This perennial Japanese Painted Fern will certainly bring something a bit unique to you beds and borders. With its metallic  'pewter' grey fronds, edged with mint-green and burgundy veins, it almost looks like a piece of art - hence its alternative name of the Painted Lady Fern.

Easy to grow and totally frost-hardy, it's great for shady borders and covering the ground with its compact nature although it won't spread and take over. It can also be used in containers to create a unique feature that will delight for seasons to come.

An elegant garden fern, Athyrium is perfectly happy in shade, where its bright, silvery leaves will help light up dull corners of your garden. Once happy in its position, the painted fern will naturalise well and form an attractive colony.

Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, ready to plant straight out.
