New for this season, this fabulous addition to the amazing Bottlebrush family will add colour and form and bring something a little special to your garden.
One of the hardiest bottlebrush trees, callistemon sieberi 'Widdecombe Gem' has evergreen, needle-like leaves and striking, creamy yellow flowers shaped like a bottlebrush.
Each flower spike is made up of thousands of thin stamens, each pollen rich, so become a mecca for bees and butterflies early in the season. Flowering from April to August, it is great to attract early season pollinators to fruit.
Grow in a pot in a warm and sunny spot, in a well-drained soil mix. Although hardy to -10C or so, we would advise some winter protection to prevent damage to early growth.
Upright, robust stems make Widdecombe Gem ideal for growing in a pot on the patio or balcony and as it’s easy to grow, anyone can enjoy its exotic blooms through the summer.
Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, ready for immediate planting.
