The yesterday-today-and-tomorrow plant
Another name for this amazing shrub is the Yesterday-Today-and-Tomorrow tree, and its name comes from the way that the flowers change colour daily in a spectacular prism of violet-purple, lavender-blue and white - all over a period of three days.
The gorgeous flowers are produced in clusters of around ten throughout summer, forming a stunning contrast to the glossy leaves. Plant this sweetly-scented beauty on your patio or next to a path so that you can enjoy the lovely fragrance!
Compact and slow growing to around 1.5m in 10 years, Brunfelsia pauciflora is perfect for a patio pot or low border, especially as it is not hardy in the UK and will need to be protected from the worst winter weather.
Sent as an established young plant in a 9cm pot.
Grow outdoors in full sun in frost-free area in humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.
Can also be grown under glass in loam-based compost in bright indirect or filtered light.
