Product Information

We are delighted to offer you the chance to grow the Nation's favourite fruit trees in your garden, on a balcony, terrace or patio. Thanks to recent breeding breakthroughs, we can now bring you plums and cherries on compact plants so that everyone can have a go at growing them!
Grown on dwarfing rootstocks, Plum 'Victoria' and Cherry 'Athos' will both produce a heavy crop of fruits in the summer - all at a height that's convenient for you.
Easy to grow and very productive, you can be assured a great crop of tasty fruits as both are self-pollinating – so even the newest of gardeners will get success!

Cherry Athos
The delicious fruits are super sweet and have an old fashioned mouth-watering aromatic flavour – each totally winter hardy bush will produce up to 5kg (approx. 12lb) of fruit per year once fully established.
Because it grows in a naturally dwarf BUSH habit and on its own roots, (rather than as a tall grafted tree) you can pick your heavy crop of tasty cherries from each branch, easily and from the safety ground level every summer ... from early July here in the UK - no ‘Cherry Pickers’ required!
Athos is perfect for any garden and is even suitable to grow in a large pot - it could even be grown as the ultimate productive hedge!

Plum 'Little Vic'
Clever fruit tree grower Will Sibley has teamed the ever-popular best-selling 'Victoria' with a very dwarfing and compact new VVA1 rootstock, which removes most of the vigour that can sometimes be the downfall of Plums. It's like someone has shrunk the tree yet kept the fruit the same – just as big and juicy as the normal variety. It still produces lovely pure white spring blossom displays, and is self-fertile, so no other plums needed for fruit - just the bees that need to do their thing!
Perfect in large patio pots (minimum 30cm diameter) for 5 years or so, it produces big, juicy crops of classic red Victoria plums, yet stays small, manageable and perfect for everyone.

Top Tips

Add Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi to give your plants a head start and establish faster.

Care Information

  • Apply a slow-release fertiliser such as blood fish and bone in early spring, and mulch to retain moisture.
  • Drape netting over cherry trees to protect the fruit from birds.
  • Water regularly, and don't let the soil dry out if planted in pots.
  • Stone fruit should not be pruned during winter, to minimise the risk of infection - early summer is the ideal time. Established trees don't require radical pruning, just take off any diseased, dying and damaged branches, (the three Ds). Look at the overall shape and aim for an open structure of branches and remove any that cross over so they don't damage each other.
  • Hang wasp traps in trees and harvest crops as soon as they ripen. Avoid leaving windfalls or over-ripe fruit on the ground.
  • Don't forget the tree guards as rabbits can strip the bark overnight.
